Oceanus Watches I want a watch that gives me the exact time, that I can wear even when showering and swimming, and that has a saphhire crystal that won't scratch. But I hate automatic watches because they are terribly inaccurate (they drift 2-5 minutes a month!); I don't like quartz watches because you have to change batteries. Then along came Oceanus. Dressy and sharp. Substantial. Titanium. Reinforced sapphire crystal that will take beatings without scratching. Waterproof to 90 feet. Other watches have those features but here is where all comparisons stop. This is the only watch in the world that does those things AND:
I've received many compliments -- had mine for 3 years with nary a problem. And Watch Snoots like my buddy Curt (who isn't really a snoot) never realize that Oceanus is the upper brand line for Japanese giant Casio. Cheap for a nice watch, too, $400-800...

| I like the looks of the above 700-1AV model best, , but I actually own the 500-aAV at right. I prefer because it includes (a) a daily snooze alarm that will ring every 5 minutes until you shut it off, which I use every morning, and (b) a built-in motion-sensitive amber LED light... you can set the watch to sense the motion on your arm and light up the watch-face when you look at it. | ![]() |
